Locations

General Information

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Anomaly features locations from all 3 S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, including the cut Generators map, and the custom Meadows map from the Last Day mod. There are 33 locations total and visiting all of them will grant an achievement. The Oasis location is included here as a separate, 34th location for convenience only, but because there is no level transition, it counts as part of Jupiter.

Clicking on the location title above each table redirects to a more detailed page about that location, such as maps of every available stash on each location. Darkscape and Chernobyl NPP are the only maps without any stash locations.

When starting a new game, the player can select the Accessible Zone option, which allows travel between all locations from the start, in the usual Call of Chernobyl sandbox manner.

Without Accessible Zone enabled, only routes around the Southern parts of the Zone are readily accessible at the start of a new game, and the player must unlock the more Northern routes by either purchasing them from important faction NPCs, purchasing Anomaly Maps from random Stalker NPCs, discovering them on found PDAs, or during certain quest lines.

Underground Locations

Agroprom Underground
Agroprom Underground
Agroprom Underground is a dangerous area requiring adequate weapons and gear to pass through. If Story mode is enabled, the player will be able to find Strelok's notebook in his classic hideout.

The expanded area past the hideout can contain a Controller and 4 Burers (or more); the latter will usually camp in the open space on the narrow walkways and throw items at the player even outside the line of sight, making the RPG an extra satisfying solution to this problem.

Mutants on this map: Psysucker, Bloodsucker, Poltergeist, Burer, Controller.

Lab X-18
Lab X-18
Lab X-18 is located in the Dark Valley (placeholder)

Mutants on this map:

Lab X-16
Lab X-16
Lab X-16 is located in Yantar and contains the Miracle Machine, which can be shut down after receiving the Psy-helmet from Professor Sakharov.

Mutants on this map: Zombie, Zombified Stalker, Boar, Snork, Bloodsucker, Burer, Controller, Pseudogiant.

Lab X-19
Lab X-19
Lab X-19 (also knows as Lab X-10 and the Brain Scorcher) is located at the Radar. In Story mode, the player must disable the Brain Scorcher before proceeding to the North of the Zone in search of Strelok.

The Monolith presence is extremely high on this map, so when playing an opposing faction strong weapons, plenty of ammo, field armor and weapon repair kits (glue, tape, etc.) are recommended. The Monolith troops are deadly, carry impressive gear, and are heavily armored. When raiding the Radar, it is unlikely you will be able to bring back all the loot and rare weapons that will drop from the enemy, so bring nothing but the necessities and at least 100kg carry weight to reap as many spoils of battle as possible.
There is a 6 minute time limit to shut down the Brain Scorcher after entering the underground bunker.

Mutants on this map: Bloodsucker.

Testing Workshop
Testing Workshop
Testing Workshop is a facility located in Zaton, under the Iron Forest.

When playing in Story Mode, the player must visit this area and retrieve the experimental Gauss rifle for Rogue in exchange for information about Strelok.

Jupiter Underground
Jupiter Underground
The Jupiter Underground complex is a system of tunnels and service routes leading to a central train depot. This underground system is littered with broken down vehicles, decrepit trains, and is flooded in some parts. It can be accessed from the Eastern Tunnel in Jupiter (near the Jupiter Factory) and from a maintenance hole in the treelines behind the Laundromat, in the Outskirts.

When playing in Story Mode, the player must pass through Jupiter Underground while accompanied by Rogue to reach Strelok in his hideout in the Outskirts. More mutant spawns are available when returning to the location later, without Rogue.

Mutants on this map: Tushkano, Snork, Zombie, Zombified Stalker, Psyzombie, Lurker, Chimera, Bloodsucker, Psysucker, Karlik.

Oasis
Oasis
Oasis is located in Jupiter and is accessible through the train station west of the Ventilation Complex. It contains the Heart of the Oasis artefact.

The method of reaching the chamber with the artefact is the same as in vanilla Call of Pripyat: there are five rows of columns that the player must pass through, and passing through a set of columns each time has a chance to activate a glowing field between them. The player must activate 4 out of 5 pillar fields and pass through them, from closest to furthest.

Lab X-8
Lab X-8
Lab X-8 is located in the Outskirts, underneath the Yubileiniy services center.

When playing in Story Mode, the player must retrieve 2 documents from Lab X-8 for Strelok as part of the Living Legend quest. One of the documents is located left of the entrance in an office, and the second document is located deeper below, past a second elevator shaft and 3 Burers, in another office up a flight of stairs.

Griffin, the Mercenary NPC in the Bookstore at the Outskirts can give a quest to find 3 documents for him as well.

NOTE: The documents for both Strelok and Griffin will only spawn after you've talked to them and received their requests.

Mutants on this map: Snork, Burer, Controller.

Sarcophagus
Sarcophagus
The Sarcophagus is a dangerous, Monolith-controlled area at the very North of the Zone. As part of Story Mode, particularly the Living Legend quest, the player is required to raid the area in order to advance the quest.

The CNPP, Sarcophagus, and Monolith Control Center are heavily populated by Monolith and are arguably the most difficult areas of the game, requiring top notch equipment, plenty of healing items, and provisions to negate the effects of the medicine, as Monolith rarely drop clean food and water.

Most importantly, the Sarcophagus houses the Wish Granter. The wishes and their consequences are as follows:

1) "I want the Zone to disappear!": closes the game (check the crash log file).

2) "Humanity is corrupt. Mankind must be controlled!": the game will start spawning multiple Controllers within the usual enemy spawn points on every location (exclusing Deserted Hospital but including Limansk, despite Limansk not having mutant spawn points normally). From now on you will encounter Controllers even in Rostok.

3) "I wish for world peace!": removes all mutants and most stalkers from the game, leaving only a select few named NPCs alive.

4) "I desire all the riches of the Zone!": gives the player every non-quest related item in the game, totaling in almost 1500kg of weight. Since this spawns in every active artefact into the inventory, including the Death Lamp, the player will perish within seconds while overencumbered and unable to remove all the items in time.

5) "Make me immortal!": Turns the player into an immortal Zombified Stalker, teleports them to the church cemetery in the Great Swamps, and grants Maximal reputation with Monolith. Curiously enough, previously friendly factions will not attack the player in this state.

6) [say nothing]: refuse to wish and walk away.

Monolith Control Center
Monolith Control Center
The Monolith Control Center is a dangerous, Monolith-controlled area underneath the Sarcophagus. The player is required to pass through this area in order to get to the back of the CNPP which leads towards the Generators.

If playing with Story Mode enabled, this is where the player will encounter the Phantom Guard and the Shard of the Monolith, which is required to complete the Living Legend quest.

Mutants on this map: Poltergeist, Pseudogeist, Bloodsucker.
