Factions

Factions play a very important role in Anomaly. All of them have a reputation system that can influence the gameplay in various forms and ways depending on the status of such relationships between eachother and the player. It is possible to increase or decrease the goodwill towards them depending on the behaviour, the level of hostility towards them and the faction in which the player is already in, allowing or denying to the player the right to access certain areas and traders without having to fight for it. This is influenced by the player's relationship with the faction occupying the area. Also keep in mind that the closer to the center of the zone a faction is, the better equipped will be its members.

If the player is on good terms with a faction, will have access to all the areas that it occupies on the map without having to put up a fight. As well as being able to visit:

Its traders to buy and sell goods and equipment. Doctors to buy or sell medical supplies and heal radiation poisoning or wounds. Technicians for repairing or upgrading equipment. Its members and important characters for the assignment or completion of missions.

If the relationship between the player and a certain faction is good enough, the player will be granted the right to ask certain members to join him as companions. If the player is in bad terms with another faction, its members will be hostile and shoot on sight.

Most of the factions in the game have a sworn enemy that no matter what, will permanently be hostile towards. Examples of this are:

Duty and Bandits Freedom and Duty Monolith and all the other factions except zombiefied Stalkers

The player will have various ways to gain reputation towards a faction, some example are:

Completing missions Healing dying members during or after a fight

Regarding traders and technicians, the prices for repairing, selling, or buying equipment and goods, can decrease or increase depending on the player's reputation with the faction or personal rank. The equipment's rarity and quality that the traders will sell, is also influenced by the reputation towards the faction, personal rank, the faction's vicinity towards the center of the zone and relevance in the game.
