Tables

Tables can be created by using specific formatting.

Remeber, that every markup of the table must end up in line break.

CODE
Markup Result
{| class="tableclassname"
Begins table. Name inside quotation marks defines style of the table to use. You can see different table styles below
|+
Begins table header, which is often more exposed than the rest of table rows.
!
Name of table header column. Number of exclamation marks defines number of columns in the table.
|-
Begins table row.
|
Defines a cell in column. Amount per row must be the same, as number of columns defined in table header with "!"
| colspan="n" |
Cell merge through "n" of columns.
|}
Ends the table.

Styles of table formatting:

  • class="wikitable" - main wiki table layout, helping to present data in clear and readable way
class="wikitable" Table Title
Header Column 1 Header Column 2
Table Column 1 Row 1 Table Column 2 Row 1
Table Column 1 Row 2 Table Column 2 Row 2

  • class="invisitable" - transparent borders and backgrounds, most suitable for making Main Pages linking to more detailed articles:
class="invisitable" Table Title
Header Column 1 Header Column 2
Table Column 1 Row 1 Table Column 2 Row 1
Table Column 1 Row 2 Table Column 2 Row 2

  • class="mctable" - table for main page contents overview:
class="mctable" Table title
Header Column 1 Header Column 2
Table Column 1 Row 1 Table Column 2 Row 1
Table Column 1 Row 2 Table Column 2 Row 2

Infoboxes

Infobox allows to group most important info into floating box always placed on the right side of the article.

To create own Infobox sdata block, first the template is needed. Create new page beginning with "Template" in the name, for example "Template:FactionInfobox".

Inside the page insert code responsible for displaying info:

<infobox>
  <title source="Title"><default>{{PAGENAME}}</default></title>
  <image source="image" />
  <data source="001"><label>First Label</label></data>
  <data source="002"><label>Second Label</label></data>
  <data source="003"><label>Third label</label></data>
</infobox>

After saving the template it can be further edited and modified by going into page containing list of all Infobox templates - Special:AllInfoboxes

When template is created, infobox can be inserted into article using code below - notice, that lines directly correspond the code snippets from Infobox template:

Input markup Result
{{BasicInfobox
 |Title = Infobox Title
 |image  = computer.jpg
 |001 = First data
 |002 = Second data
 |003 = Third data
}}
