Artefacts

General Information

Artefacts are an iconic gameplay aspect in every S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mod and Anomaly is no different, featuring active and inactive artefacts. Both types can be sold to merchants, and scientists will pay extra for them. Active artefacts can be requested by members of all factions as a fetch quest and turning in an artefact as part of such a quest will always yield much more money.

Active artefacts are found using detectors and will steadily emit radiation when in the player's inventory if not placed inside a container. They can be placed on the player's belt when inside an Improvised Application Module (IAM), Artefact Application Container (AAC), or Artefact Application Module (AAM) and they do not degrade. Carrying an artefact on the belt does not require a power source. Lead Lined Containers (LLC) can not be placed on the player's belt.

Inactive artefacts can be found in anomalies without needing a detector as they are visible to the naked eye. They do not emit radiation when placed in the inventory, and they can't be placed in containers. Since they have no negative or positive effects, they cannot be placed on the player's belt. As such, they are harmless and decorative but can still sell for several thousand RU.

Below you will find 2 artefact tables: one with both active and inactive artefacts sorted by element, and another one with active artefacts and their stats in alphabetical order.

Note: The active artefacts Compass and Monolith, and the inactive artefact Shard of the Monolith can only be obtained if Story Mode is enabled when starting a new game. They cannot naturally spawn in sandbox mode.
